Quiz is a type of game or testing. Participants answer questions, usually orally or in writing, to test their knowledge, intelligence, or general erudition. Although they may all differ, common features and characteristics can be traced almost everywhere. The main ones include:

- Prizes and awards. In some cases, especially if there is an element of competition, participants may win prizes or awards.
